Blue Love

Blue Love is a minimalist gouache illustration featuring two abstract male figures entwined, subverting the traditional visual monopoly of red as the exclusive signifier of romantic love. By rendering the figures entirely in blue, I make a quiet yet deliberate statement: while red is historically coded for heteronormative romance, blue belongs to homosexual intimacy. More than a palette shift, this choice is my way of asserting that my love is equally valid, while quietly normalizing the presence of two men together, an image so natural it would go unquestioned if it were a man and a woman. Yet, here it invites viewers to look past societal boxes.
